Umbrella
The Umbrella Cockatoo, Cacatua alba also known as White Cockatoo is a medium-sized, up to 46cm long, cockatoo endemic to the islands of Halmahera, Bacan, Ternate, Tidore, Kasiruta and Mandiole in North Maluku, Indonesia. At first sight it appears to be a white parrot with brown or black eyes and a dark grey beak. If it is surprised, it extends a large and striking crest, which has a semicircular shape (similar to an umbrella, hence the name). The crest is normally recumbent. The underside of the wings and tail have pale yellow or lemon colour, which flash when they fly.

The Umbrella Cockatoo can live up to, and perhaps beyond, 80 years in age. They are very social, needing a lot of interaction. They can be very loud and their calls (a very loud screeching noise) can be heard up to three miles away.

Eleanora
Medium Sulphur-crested cockatoos, also known as Eleanora cockatoos, are affectionate, playful and highly intelligent birds. They are excellent companions for those who want a charming, loving bird that likes to cuddle.

Medium Sulphur-cresteds and other cockatoo species can be very long lived and a few individuals in zoos have lived up to 50 to 60 years.

Goffin
The Goffin's Cockatoo, Cacatua goffini also known as Tanimbar Cockatoo is a species of cockatoo native and endemic to forests of Banda Sea islands in Indonesia. They weigh, on average, about 350 grams and are about 31 centimeters from head to tail. The Goffin's Cockatoos are the smallest of all Cacatuinae. At first sight it appears to be a white cockatoo with some salmon or pink face feathers, and a pale grey beak. Both sexes are similar.

Rose-Breasted
The Rose-Breasted(Galah) can make an excellent pet, with even wild caught young birds capable of becoming affectionate and friendly birds. They will however often become a little unpredictable when mature, and should never be allowed to spend time on a shoulder. They are extremely playful and intelligent birds, which, like most cockatoos, need constant stimulation with toys to play with, and objects to chew, to keep them from getting bored. They are not generally noisy, apart from early morning and evening, although some are the exception to the rule. Both sexes can become good talkers, possibly with the males being somewhat better, however their talking ability is not usually on a par with either Sulphur-crested Cockatoos or the Corellas.

Moluccan
The Moluccan Cockatoo, Cacatua moluccensis also known as Salmon-crested Cockatoo is a cockatoo endemic to south Moluccas in eastern Indonesia. At 50 cm, it is the largest of the white cockatoos. The female is larger than the males on average. It has white-pink feathers with a definite peachy glow, a slight yellow on the underwing and a large retractable recumbent crest which it raises when threatened to frighten potential attackers. It also has a loud voice and in captivity is a capable mimic.

Triton
The Triton Cockatoo is also big on personality. They are generally very affectionate to their owners and seem to have an endless love of being handled. In fact, some will even demand attention. These are not birds for people with little time to give. They require a great deal of time and attention and should never be considered for a home where they will spend most of their time alone.

Major Mitchell
With its soft-textured white and salmon-pink plumage and large, bright red and yellow crest, it is generally recognised as the most beautiful of all cockatoos. It is named in honour of Major Sir Thomas Mitchell, who wrote "Few birds more enliven the monotonous hues of the Australian forest than this beautiful species whose pink-coloured wings and flowing crest might have embellished the air of a more voluptuous region".

Lesser Sulfur Crested
The Lesser Sulfur Crested Cockatoo is highly trainable and quite beautiful. It is no surprise this wonderful parrot is popular throughout the world. The Lesser Sulfur Crested Cockatoo are readily trained to learn tricks. They also have exhibited strong mimicking ability, with many owners reporting speech from their Lesser Sulfur Crested Cockatoo.
